COMEDK UGET 2014 Eligibility Criteria
COMEDK UGET 2014 is a common entrance test for admission into medical, engineering and architecture degree programmes at the undergraduate level in Karnataka colleges. Following are the basic eligibility criteria that candidates must meet for COMEDK UGET 2014 for MBBS/ BDS, B.E. or B.Arch.:
Eligibility Criteria For MBBS/BDS
According to regulations of the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India, candidates should have passed a recognized 2nd Pre-University Course (PUC), 10+2 exam or equivalent. The most recent two years of study must have included physics, chemistry and biology along with English. At least 50% total marks (40 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes candidates) in the above subjects is required.
At least 50 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates) should be obtained in COMEDK UGET 2014. At least 50 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates) marks in English in the entrance test are also required to be eligible for a rank.
Candidates should be at least 17 on or before 31 December, 2014 on the year of admission to the MBBS or BDS course. If you passed your qualifying exam before 2012, you should not apply.
Eligibility Criteria For B.E.
According to norms from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), candidates should have passed a recognized 2nd PUC, 10+2 or equivalent. Your last two years of study must have included physics, chemistry and mathematics, along with English as a compulsory subject. For general merit candidates, a minimum of 45 aggregate marks in these subjects is required (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka). Each subject also should have been passed individually. Compulsory subjects are physics and mathematics, as well as biology, biotechnology, chemistry or a technical vocational course as a optional subject.
Diploma candidates may not appear for the test.
Eligibility Criteria For B.Arch.
Candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC, 10+2 or equivalent exam with mathematics and other subjects. A 10+3 diploma recognized by the central or state government is also accepted. At least 50 percent aggregate marks (45 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka) are required. Please note that you should have taken the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and earned a score of at least 80 out of 200 (for general merit and category candidates).
Important note: COMEDK is not holding an entrance test for B.Arch. candidates. If you are applying to this course, submit a separate applciation form with a Rs. 1000 demand draft in favor of COMEDK.
