CET Karnataka 2014 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET Karnataka 2014) Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga Courses / Engineering / Technology Courses and Architecture courses are listed here.

Eligibility Criteria For Medical (MBBS) & Dental (BDS) courses

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study
  • Should have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group
  • Should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the CET.
  • In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and CET.

Eligibility Criteria For Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Ayurveda & Yoga courses

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study.
  • Have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group.
  • In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B),the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.
  • For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2014.
  • No minimum marks prescribed for Karnataka CET 2014.
  • Rank lists will be prepared and published separately for these courses based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in both the CET and the qualifying exam (12th class) by taking the marks in equal proportions.

Eligibility Criteria For Engineering / Technology Courses

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study
  • Should have obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.
  • In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • No minimum marks prescribed for the CET.
  • Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, the Engineering rank list will be prepared and published.

Eligibility Criteria For Architecture Courses

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as an optional subject.
  • Should  have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination
  • 45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) and persons with disability of mental retardation or mental illness (including dyslexia).
  • Candidates should also appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it (including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.) The last date to appear for NATA is 19 May, 2014. Such candidates should obtain and submit their NATA scores along with the copy of the 2nd PU / 12 Std. Marks Card (by boldly writing their CET Number on the NATA score card) to the KEA either in person or only through ‘Speed Post’ on or before 22 May, 2014.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc in Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agriculture Biotech, Horticulture and Bachelor of Home Science courses

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
  • Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in both CET and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B.Sc.(Agri), B.Sc.(Forestry), B.H.Sc., B.Sc.(Sericulture), B.Sc.(Agri.Biotech), B.Sc.(Horticulture) courses.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry course

  • The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 50 % in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
  • The aggregate should be 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates.
  • Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the CET, the B.V.Sc & A.H. rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology, Bachelor of Fishery Science, and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation courses

  • The applicant should have passed the Karnataka 2nd PUC/ 12th standard exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.
  • Based on the performance of the candidates in PCMB subjects in both the CET and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, a common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B.Tech.(Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Tech.), B.F.Sc, B.Tech.(Food Science & Tech.) and B.Sc.(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation) courses.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering course

  • The applicant should have passed the Karnataka 2nd PUC/ 12th standard exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects.
  • Based on the performance of the candidates in PCM subjects in both the CET and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B.Tech.(Agri.Engg.) course.

Eligibility Criteria for B-Pharma

  • The applicant should have passed 2nd PUC with PCB or PCM subjects with at least an aggregate of 45% in these subjects (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
    or
  • The applicant should have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy exam from an institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)with at least 45% marks (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates).
  • Merit/ rank will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the CET

Eligibility Criteria for 2nd Year B-Pharma

  • The applicant should have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy exam from an institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)with at least 45% marks (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates).
  • Merit/ rank will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the CET

Eligibility Criteria for Pharma-D

  • The applicant should have passed 2nd PUC with PCB or PCM subjects.
    or
  • The applicant should have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy exam from an institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
