CET Karnataka 2012
Candidates who have passed in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics are eligible for CET Karnataka 2012. The candidates aspiring for admission into engineering degree programs takes CET 2012 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, those wish to study medical, dental, ayurveda, homeopathy, unanai, naturopathy and yoga courses writes CET 2012 in physics, chemistry, and biology.
In addition, candidates aspiring for architecture program need to write NATA 2012. For details regarding NATA 2012 Click Here. For Architecture course, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA 2012 taken in equal proportions.
CET Karnataka 2012 aspirants who fulfill required eligibility criteria can appear in all three tests i.e CET Karnataka 2012 PCM Group, CET Karnataka 2012 PCB Group and NATA 2012.
CET Karnataka 2012 for admission into under graduate engineering, medical and related sciences programs offered by KEA Bangalore i.e. Karnataka Examination Authority. The KEA administers KCET 2012 across the state of Karnata, prepares merit list of candidates and conducts counseling for allotment of seats to CET 2012 qualified candidates in different professional institutions in Karnataka. Besides KEA also provides study material like previous years CET Question Papers etc and offers CET coaching through Chandana Doordarshan.
CET-2012 Examination PostponedThe Common Entrance Test 2012 scheduled to be held on March 03, 2012 and May 04, 2012 and Kannada Language Test scheduled on May 05, 2012 is postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The New time table for CET 2012 is given below. Candidates are requested to note the changed time table and appear for the examination accordingly. The admission tickets will be sent to all the candidates on or after May 11, 2012 to their respective colleges/home address. There will be a provision to download the admission tickets from the KEA website: http://kea.kar.nic.in. The CET 2012 results will be published on June 06, 2012. Verification of documents helpline centers will commence from June 13, 2012. The schedule notified in the CET 2012 brochure for counselling and for other programmes will remain unchanged. |

Karnataka 2012 Application Form can be obtained from schools and
colleges located in Karnataka. However, request for Aplication Form can

1. Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the school / colleges located within the state of Karnataka where the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of demand draft for Rs - 650/- to the principal in advance, drawn in favor of " The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", pay able at Bangalore and RS - 500/- for students belonging to scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and category - 1 Repeaters and ex - students who have passed the qualifying examination within the state of Karnataka before 2012 should also submit the demand draft to the respective schools / colleges .2. The last date of submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of school & colleges within Karnataka will be 09 March 2012
3. Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka Candidates i.e., who fulfills the eligibility Conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination out the state of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by "speed post", by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm X 30cm along with a demand draft for Rs - 750/- drawn in favor of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and Karnataka.
4. Candidates residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs - 5000/- The contents on the self addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words " Request for CET - 2012 brochure " and should be sent to the office address of executive director by " Speed Post".
5. The brochure will be supplied to the school / colleges in Karnataka & also to the students who are residing outside the state of Karnataka on or after March 22, 2012
CET Karnataka 2012 Eligibility Criteria
Given below is the course-wise eligibility conditions that are set for the candidates who wish to appear for the Karnataka CET 2012:a. Medical Dental Courses : The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the PCB group should secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in PCB subject in The common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes (category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% marks in aggregate in PCB group both in qualifying examination and Common Entrance Test.
b. Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga Courses : The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in The Common Entrance Test.
In case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes (category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% marks in aggregate in PCB group both in qualifying examination. For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy / & Yoga Courses, the candidates should have completed the age of 17 Year as on 31st December 2012.
c. Engineering / Technology Courses : The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with physics and Mathematics along with chemistry / Bio - Technology / Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in The Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes (category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% marks in aggregate in PCB group both in qualifying examination.
d. Architecture Courses : The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all subject in the qualifying examination (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes and person with disability of metal retardation or mental illness (including dyslexia), and should compulsorily appear for NATA and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including scheduled castes, scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)
