Mangalore University in Konaje is an accredited at the  4 Star level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) University. It is the first university in the country to launch Bachelor's degree programmes in Hotel Management, Fashion Design, Garment Design, Leather Design, Human Resource Development, and Post- Graduate programmes in Computer Software and Yogic Sciences. The jurisdiction of the university stretches over the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu of Karnataka state.
